The Hamilton Family
YMCA Swim Team is a member of the Chattanooga Area Swim
League and consists of swimmers in the East Hamilton County area
ranging in ages from 5 to 18. The YMCA is committed to
building strong kids, strong families and strong
communities. Parental involvement is the key ingredient
needed for a successful swim team as volunteers provide the
man-power to run each of our swim
meets.
Because of several situations and circumstances,
many of which are outside of our control, we are unable to have the
swim team program this summer. I want to assure you that we worked
hard to try and make it work, but after taking everything into
consideration we believe that we came to the conclusion that is
best for the kids and families involved to not run the program. I
am sorry that this is where we are at this moment in time, and I
know that others may have made a different decision. I want to
assure you that we truly have kept the best interest of the
swimmers at heart as we worked through this. As a parent of two of
those swimmers who love the team and someone who is passionate
about the sport in general, this was one of the more challenging
decisions that I have had to make. I want to personally thank all
of you that have given so much of your time and energy to this team
and the swimmers. The parents from this team set a standard that
will be tough to match. I want to also encourage everyone to
contiinue with the sport of swimming this summer. Swimming is such
